Attorney Beth Reineke is currently a Board Certified Emeritus in marital and family law. "Emeritus" is a designation recognizing that although attorney Reineke has chosen not to litigate she continues to make a valuable contribution to the advancement of marital and family law through related career activities that do not constitute the actual practice of law.
Attorney Reineke now devotes 100 percent of her knowledge, skill and energies to alternatives to litigation such as divorce mediation, parent coordination and collaborative divorce.
While many lawyers handle divorce and other family law matters at various levels, only those who have met the requirements of Board Certification are allowed to identify themselves as a "specialist" in divorce and other family law. Certification is the highest level of recognition by the Florida Bar of competency and experience. Only a lawyer who is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar and who meets the standards set by the Supreme Court of Florida may become a "Board Certified Marital and Family Lawyer."
The Board Certification Exam for marital and family law is offered only once each year. Only a few attorneys qualify to take the Florida Bar's Certification Exam each year, and less than 50 percent of those who take the exam pass and go on to be certified by the Florida Bar in marital and family law. As of December 2010, there were only 270 Board Certified marital and family law attorneys statewide.
Attorney Reineke is also a Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator and a trained and court-appointed Parent Coordinator. She has received advanced training in divorce and custody mediation and mediated thousands of divorces and family conflicts in the Tampa Bay area.
